3. Check the built-in dimensions

The packaging of recessed spots mentions different dimensions you have to take into account:

cutoutsizeCut-out size: The size of the perforation in the ceiling you need to mount your spot.

Minimum distance between spotsMinimum distance between spots: Take care not to place your spots too close together.

recesseddistanceRecessed depth: Make sure you have at least as much space in your (false) ceiling as is indicated on the packaging. Not only do you want to fully integrate your spot, it is also very important to give it enough air to cool.

4. See if you need a transformer

Transformers are only needed for 12V (SELV) spots and are usually included with the product. Check the packaging to make sure.

When installing multiple SELV light sources on a single transformer, their total cpacity may not exceed the total capacity of the transformer. For example, when installing 5 spots of 20 W, a transformer of at least 100 VA is required.
